“This was an intense and emotional treatment - the effects lasted long after it was over. I practically floated out afterwards!” -Jennifer, Hamilton
“Was a great experience...not to be missed and definitely to be repeated.” -Catherine, West Calder
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese healing therapy. The word, itself, translates to ‘Universal Life Energy’.
Despite being based upon ancient Buddhist teachings, there is no belief system attached to Reiki. That meanst hat anyone may receive a treatment.
Reiki was developed in Japan in the 1920's by Dr. Mikao Usui. Dr. Usui reputably discovered this form of Ki or energy healing during a time of meditation and fasting on Mount Kurama, in Japan. Reiki has, since, been passed down from master to student, and onwards, so that its practice is now popular, all over the world.
The following principles form the basis of Dr. Usui's Reiki practice:
Reiki works where it is most needed, so it can benefit the individual on the physical, emotional, mental or spiritual levels.
It can aid recovery from surgical procedures and help manage pain. Reiki is useful in combating stress and any disorders exacerbated by anxiety or tension.
This form of healing is gentle and non-intrusive and is safe for even small babies and the elderly.
Reiki should never be used as a substitute for medical care but, instead, it works most effectively when used in conjunction with advice from doctors or trained professionals.
